Amplitude Integration

Send your simulated events to Amplitude for comprehensive product analytics and user behavior insights.

Overview

Amplitude is a leading product analytics platform that helps you understand user behavior, measure engagement, and drive growth. MockCDP provides seamless integration with Amplitude's HTTP API, sending realistic e-commerce events to help you test your analytics setup.

Required Credentials

  • API Key: Your Amplitude project API key
  • Region: Choose between US or EU data centers

Setup Instructions

1. Get Your API Key

  1. Log into Amplitude
  2. Go to SettingsProjects
  3. Select your project
  4. Navigate to General tab
  5. Copy the API Key (not the Secret Key)

2. Choose Your Region

  • US: Data stored in US data centers (default)
  • EU: Data stored in EU data centers for GDPR compliance

3. Configure in MockCDP

  1. Navigate to Destinations in MockCDP
  2. Find Amplitude in the list
  3. Toggle Enable to on
  4. Enter your API Key
  5. Select your Region (US or EU)
  6. Click Test Credentials to verify connection
  7. Click Save Configuration

Event Mapping

MockCDP sends comprehensive e-commerce events to Amplitude:

User Properties

MockCDP automatically sets these user properties in Amplitude:

  • Demographics: age, gender, location
  • Account Info: signup_date, plan_type, lifetime_value
  • Preferences: communication_preferences, product_interests
  • Behavior: session_count, last_seen, total_spent

Best Practices

  1. Event Volume: Start with lower simulation speeds to monitor data quality
  2. User Identification: Ensure consistent user IDs across simulations
  3. Data Validation: Use Amplitude's User Lookup to verify event delivery
  4. Chart Building: Create test charts to validate your tracking implementation
  5. Segmentation: Use MockCDP user properties for realistic audience segmentation
